All of these loved ones have found wonderful homes.
|
Now that I am home, settled and fed, All nicely tucked in my warm new bed, I'd like to open my baggage. Least I forget, There is so much to carry--- So much to regret.
Hmmm. Yes here it is, right on top, Let's unpack loneliness, heartache and loss, And there by my leash hides fear and shame. As I look on these things I have tried so hard to leave-- I still have to unpack my baggage called pain. I loved them, the others, the ones who left me, But I wasn't good enough for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage? Will you help me unpack? Or will you just look at my things And take me right back? Do you have time to help me unpack? To put away my baggage, To never repack?
I pray that you do. I'm so tired you see, But I do come with baggage. Will you still want me?

Rosie (formerly Chinka) has turned out to be
an outstanding dog. I have never met a
happier, more vibrant dog. She loves
everyone and everything about life. She is
currently in puppy training and we are working
on getting her ready to visit people in the
hospital. I am a very lucky person to have such
a wonderful little companion. Carol
Just wanted to celebrate the fact that Tyson
(now Tazo) has lived one year with us in his
forever home. He has brought incredible joy
to our whole family, and I think we've done the
same for him. Thanks a million for all you do.
Thanks again. Rene
I just wanted to drop another line to let you know how Watson & I are doing. We are just finishing up our first year together. First off, the little guy hasn't had a seizure since
the third week of June. He seems to be very content these days. We have a routine he likes to stick to. We still don't make it further than a couple of blocks on our walks,
but he seems to enjoy them until he gets worn out. He spends the majority of his time sleeping at my feet under my desk at work, and the rest of his time is in my lap at
home. Our Vet and I have weened him completely off of all medication, since then, he has only had one cluster of seizures. (June) As long as he doesn't get stressed and
his routine stays the same, he does great. Thanks again for putting us together. Bradley

For some reason, I decided to look at the Maltese & Shih Tzu Rescue website today and I realized that we've never sent you an
update & pix of our wonderful adoptees -- Bodie and Desi, AKA "da boyz" !! :) Carole Jarvis, foster mom, has been such a
wonderful "sitter" for us, keeping da boyz whenever we travel. It's been nice to stay in touch with her.
To refresh your memory, we adopted Bodie & Desi in April 2008. They have been with us, in their forever home, for well over a
year. Both of our boys are doing GREAT!! They are the best little guys -- they love car rides, taking walks, long naps, and pretty
much just being wherever we are !!! They are snuggle-bugs who love to be held and will fall asleep in our arms whenever they
get a chance! I am lucky to work from home, so Bodie & Desi have a bed in my office, plus another bed near the kitchen, and
another bed in our room (actually, they have their own spots ON our bed!!) We take lots of play-breaks every day and they are
rarely out of my sight!!! And this is perfect for all of us! Bodie and Desi are truly such wonderful additions to our family and such
sweet, devoted little guys who love each other AND Bill and I with all their hearts. Please know that they are happy, healthy, and
loving life!! Please accept our wishes & prayers for great forever homes for all the deserving little dogs that you and your
foster-folks help! God Bless You!!! Thanks for everything! Holly Hipp

I just wanted to thank you, thank you, thank you for
introducing my husband and I to Lady. She has been
with us for almost 6 weeks and we both just don’t
understand how we got on without her. We ADORE her.
She and her brother, Phuzz, get along great and play ALL
THE TIME. Tabitha (our cat) however is wondering what
the hell we are doing with another one of ‘those’ in the
house. LOL. Her hair is starting to grow back so she
doesn’t have that cute little Mohawk she had when we
first adopted her. ......Marianne Kleve
I just wanted to give you a quick update on
Max. He's the perfect little dog for our family,
and he gets along great with our other dog
Holly. Your instincts were right on, and
we're both very thankful that you thought that
Max would be a good fit for us. Thanks
again - Jay K. and Debra C.
My name is Isabel and I don't know if you remember us but you may. We called you after we lost our maltese in 2002 and you met us at Wendy's with "Gidget" who after we
took to our vet and adopted, immediately renamed "Lacey". She was very gun shy towards men for some time and had chewed and licked her leg to the point of having a
black scab on it.
I just wanted to let you know that she is doing great! Her anxiety to men has vanished....she adores my husband who she would not relax on his lap in the beginning nor let
him just approach her but not any more she loves men women and most other dogs! Even if she doesn't love them, she just walks away and doesn't act mean unless they
are on the other side of the fence then she is a total watch dog but if we bring them in, she loves them! She has never chewed on her leg again and though much more
independent than our other maltese and lab, she still loves to be loved and given her treats. We lost our lab to cancer at the age of 15.5 years and they were very close so I
thought she might show signs of stress again but we took her with us when we put him down due to his bleeding tumor and she seemed to do better because she didn't
ever go to the door looking for him after that like she would do when we would just take him to the dr. for a visit. She was sad and did not eat well for about a week but has
since recovered and still lays where he used to for naps. She is a riot and though still has an occasional accident in the house, she is a wonderful pet and we adore her. My
boss has a yellow lab that comes and stays with us on occasion and she loves it when Maggie visits. Gives her the lead and shares the big bed with her at night. She is
really well adjusted socially.
Anyway, I was just cleaning out some paperwork and got Lacey's folder and saw your contract and thought I would write and give you an update on Lacey. I know how much
you cared about your adopted friends.
Thank you again,
Isabel

Riley (formerly Checkers)
|
I adopted a Shih Tzu ("Checkers") from your organization back in 2006. I attempted to email some pictures shortly after the adoption,
but they were too large to be opened or used.
I look at your website occasionally and just wanted to send a couple of photos and let you know how very much we love our boy. We
renamed him Riley and he is honestly the sweetest dog I've ever had in my life. We've had him for almost four years and we feel
genuinely blessed to have him.. He gets along with our older dog famously. They are respectful and protective of one another. Riley
brought new life into the house and as a result my almost 14 year old Pekingese is thriving and misses his buddy when he's at the
groomer's or vet's.
The only issue we have with Riley is that he is very fearful of loud noises. He can't stand 4th of July. He hates the toaster and the
recliner. We tend to think he had a traumatic experience that involved loud noises. We comfort him during those times, but he is
usually an outgoing and lovable little guy.
You have a wonderful organization and we're so glad we contact you and were able to have Riley join our family. He is a blessing and
we love him more than words can express.
Thank you,
Kristi Hocamp and Riley (a.k.a "Checkers)
